More Answers to Your Questions

  • Trauma-informed care is a system-wide approach that recognizes how past trauma affects your mental and physical health and ensures you feel safe, respected, and understood throughout your therapy journey. It focuses on creating a supportive environment that avoids re-traumatization and empowers you.

  • PTSD can develop after repeated exposure to traumatic or high-stress events, often common in both military and medical settings. Symptoms may include intrusive memories, difficulty sleeping, feeling emotionally numb, and avoiding reminders of the event.

Complex PTSD (C-PTSD) can develop after prolonged or repeated trauma, such as sustained combat stress, ongoing crisis care, or early life adversity. It may include PTSD symptoms along with heightened emotional dysregulation, low self-worth, difficulty trusting others, or feeling disconnected from oneself.

  •  EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a therapy that helps you heal from trauma by gently reprocessing distressing memories. It’s especially helpful for people who feel stuck after difficult experiences, including ongoing stress, abuse, or past events that still feel overwhelming. EMDR doesn’t require talking in detail about the trauma and can lead to lasting relief and emotional healing.

  •  Neurodiversity is the natural variation in how our brains work, including differences in thinking, learning, and processing emotions—such as in autism, ADHD, and other neurologically based conditions. Embracing neurodiversity means recognizing and valuing these differences without trying to “fix” them, providing support that honors and respects your unique strengths and challenges, helps you build on your abilities and improve well-being in a way that fits who you are.

  • Shadow work is a therapeutic process that helps you explore the parts of yourself you may have suppressed—like anger, fear, shame, or self-doubt—often formed through past experiences or trauma. By bringing these hidden aspects into awareness with compassion and curiosity, you can break old patterns, build self-acceptance, and create lasting emotional growth. Shadow work is a powerful tool for anyone seeking deeper healing, authenticity, and inner balance.
